BARBARA
GANNEN
Barbara
Gannen has a BFA from Ithaca College and an .MA from Hunter College
where she honed her directorial skills under the tutelage of Harold
Clurman of the Group Theatre. Barbara has worked as an actress, director,
teacher and acting coach in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles and as
an on-set coach in dozens of films and series. Her work with actress
Nicollette Sheridan in "A Time to Heal" earned Ms. Sheridan
an Emmy Nomination. In addition to her artistic and teaching endeavors
Barbara has worked for 8 years as a story analyst and was the VP of
Development for Bette Midler during the time "Beaches" was
produced.
Barbara has been a guest lecturer at AFI and the Graduate Writing and
Directing Programs at USC and UCLA. Last year Barbara directed John
Pollono's "Thicker than Water" to critical acclaim. It was
the LA Weekly's Pick of the Week. She has been associated with the Margie
Haber Studio for the past 15 years and is an adjunct Professor at Santa
Monica College.
