MARGIE’S AUDITION TECHNIQUE “LIVE THE LIFE” SESSION

Margie teaches her “Live the Life” Session all over the United States and overseas.  If you’re interested in bringing Margie to your town, please contact us.  An introduction to Margie Haber’s philosophy and audition technique, this 3-hour session gives actors an opportunity to learn to breakdown a “slice of life” instinctively and physically, rather than intellectually.  Her 10-step method and Haber Phrase Technique (using the paper without losing your life) from her successful book, How to Get the Part Without Falling Apart, is shared with actors of all levels of experience.  Whether you are a beginner, an intermediate, or an advanced professional actor, you will learn specifically how to take the Haber Philosophy of:  “Stop Acting and Live the Life of the Person” into your auditions.  The tools you learn for auditioning will be easily applied to your prepared work in film, television, commercials, and theatre.   Margie will do communication skill exercises with the whole group, as well as chose actors to come up and do a cold reading which she will provide, while others from the group learn from her valuable feedback.  Whether you plan to continue your studies at home, or come to her studio in L.A., Margie’s philosophy is universal.  This gives actors an affordable taste of her on-camera intensive workshops.  Once you have this experience with Margie, you will want more!

In this below clip, you’ll get a taste of what the “Live the Life” Session is all about.  Contains adult language.

Commercials = Tiny “Slices of Life.”  We are exited to announce a new, special intensive focused on On-Camera Audition Technique for Commercials, taught in the Haber philosophy & technique.  Our belief is that acting in commercials is not about selling and showing a product, it’s about sharing and creating a relationship by believing “I am this person living this life”…. in a tiny slice of life!  Taught by Tim Powell, this class meets twice/week for 4 weeks on Wednesdays at 7 PM and Sundays at 10:30 AM.  Limited to 10 actors, ages 18+.  $400.  Call us to enroll!

Brien Perry’s Story

“I hadn’t been in class for months, and I hadn’t really had an audition in about three months.  It was frustrating and I was wondering what was going on.  I bumped into Eden Bernardy (Margie Haber Studio coach) at a restaurant and knew it was a sign that it was time to get back to the Studio.  The next day I came back to Margie’s class.  Ten minutes after class started, my agent called and told me I had an audition for “General Hospital.”  I called Margie to coach me privately for it since the audition was the next day.   She was being a good Jew at temple for Rosh Hashana and didn’t get my message until 9:00 AM the following morning.  She called me the day of the audition and said she could see me at 10:00 AM and my audition was at Noon…   so I coached with her from 10:15 – 11:15 then went immediately to the audition.  I killed it.   The Casting Director was Mark Teschner.  I’ve auditioned for him several times but it’s never worked out.  Then, I kill it at this audition and he says, “Really good work, Brien.”  Twenty minutes later they called and I booked a recurring role.  Thank you, Margie.  I’m so happy to be back in class!”
